“It’s time for action, in the name of world peace.” Major figures who share this vision with UNIQLO have volunteered to design T-shirts expressing their peaceful wishes. All proceeds will be donated to international organizations supporting those affected by violence, discrimination, armed conflict, and poverty. Kengo Kuma

Architect / Kengo Kuma was born in 1954. He established Kengo Kuma & Associates (KKAA) in 1990. He is currently a University Professor and Professor Emeritus at the University of Tokyo and a member of the Japan Art Academy after teaching at Keio University and the University of Tokyo. KKAA projects are currently underway in more than 50 countries. Kengo Kuma proposes architecture that opens up new relationships between nature, technology, and human beings.

The architecture I envision is not merely a giant mass, but something that connects the earth and human life as part of the natural world itself. I hope for a peaceful world where individuals aren’t weighed down by a giant, heavy mass. In such a world, it is our separateness, like scattered particles, that allows each individual, delicate like a single flower within a bouquet, to exist lightly and with compassion for one another.
